What I’m doing on 2/23/2018

It’s a wintry day in SLC.  I’ve gotten back to working on the aluminum.  My Hitachi cordless drill broke (the chuck would no longer open and the replacement is ‘obsolete) so I purchased an 18v Milwaukee that seems much more robust.  The Al cockpit pieces are in the background and the shop dog is bored.

I’ve decided to put in air vents off of the transmission tunnel as several builders have done and I’m still thinking about fresh air vents routed from the front of the roadster into the top of the footboxes.   I’ve been very pleased with the Mitsubishi heat pump (the indoor part of the unit is on the back wall).  It’s been in the high teens at night and the shop has stayed a nice 70 deg. F.

Below are the holes for riveting the passenger floor to the chassis; the cuttings are in the oil that I used to help with the drilling.  The holes are on a 3 in. center.  It’s probably overkill but I don’t want any rattling.

This step has been somewhat time-consuming partly because each hole needs to be de-burred.  I’m working on the driver side today.
