Brake Balance v. Deceleration

After Walker, J. Jr., High Performance Brake Systems (2007), p.55:

‘Many strategies exist for controlling the rear brake pressure.  The three curves above illustrate the relationship between front and rear brake pressure for the ideal balance conditions (red line), the balance bar solution (yellow line) and the proportioning valve (blue line).  Although the balance bar can be adjusted to provide ideal balance at maximum deceleration, the proportioning valve provides much better control under typical driving conditions.’
